了解宗教习俗

同学们，今天我们也看了几种宗教的一些习俗，在和信奉不同宗教的人相处时，我们应该注意自己的言行举止，以免冒犯他们。这包括：

1. 不随意取笑他人的服饰 Do not make fun of other people's costumes；
2. 在准备食物时，应该先查清楚其他宗教的禁忌（例：回教徒吃清真食物，佛教徒和兴都徒吃素食） Be mindful of different religion customs when preparing food for people with different religions, e.g. Halal food for Muslims, Vegetarian food for Buddhists/Hindus；
3. 在其他人祈祷或进行其他宗教仪式时，我们应该保持安静 Be quiet when other people are praying or conducting religious rites。

当我们去其他宗教场所时，要注意什么习俗呢？

了解自己的情绪 Understanding your own emotions

今天我们画出四张脸，它们分别代表：

同学们，这里再次提醒你们写作文的要点。希望你们能仔细读一读。

1）开头

• 人物开头

小丽是一个不听劝告的小孩，常常把妈妈的话当成耳边风。因为一次的惨痛经验，她终于改过自新了......

• 回忆开头

看着那只破旧的玩具熊，我不禁想起半年前发生在我和小明之间的一件事，想着想着，心里觉得又难过又后悔......

• 天气开头

“隆......隆......”天边传来打雷的声音，天空中不但乌云密布的，而且还不时划出闪电。不一会儿，豆大的雨点“哗啦哗啦”地落下来，路上的行人纷纷撑起雨伞来。

• 对话开头

“小云！你忘了你的雨伞！”妈妈着急的声音从家门传了出来，可是小云已经快步地踏进电梯里，按下关门的按钮了。

2）内容

• 紧跟着图片写故事
• 故事要有顺序sequence
  
• 尽量用完辅助词语use up all the helping words
• 写人物的心情feelings（高兴、伤心流泪、生气、惭愧、害怕、担心着急）
• 写人物的动作actions（怎样跑、怎样做事）
• 写人物之间的对话conversations

看着妈妈手握着藤条，气呼呼的样子，小明吓得马上一个箭步向房间冲去，大声喊道：“对不起妈妈！我以后不敢了！别打我！”

3）结尾

• 人物的感想point of view

小明想：要不是我贪吃，我就不会跌到受伤，还被爸爸妈妈责备了。

• 人物这件事情得到的教训/道理lessons learnt

从此以后，小明决定痛改前非，再也不敢偷吃东西、让爸爸妈妈失望了。

Firstly, i'm happy to see all of you putting in effort to make a proper and creative PowerPoint presentation.

A job well done to all!!

But, i believe all of you can do better in terms of preparing for how and what to say during the presentation.

Most of you were reading from the screen and this made you read to the screen and walls instead to your audience.

Some of you seemed to show that it was your first time looking at the text!

In addition, i can't understand on how some of you can talk very LOUDLY with your friends but when it came to the presentation, your voice was as good as silent.

All of those things above showed how unprepared some of you were just now.

So, i have one request from all of you:

Please prepare yourselves sufficiently and practice your speech thoroughly before the show and tell this Thursday/Friday.

In the midst of making our learning fun and creative, let me introduce to all our new program: 4D's Show n Tell!

This program is not just for FUN. But it is to:

1. Improve our English language and prepare for SA2 Oral Examinations
2. Provide us the opportunity to share with one another
3. Know one another better
4. Increase our self-confidence and courage in presenting our thoughts to others
5. Make learning a very meaningful experience

Mid-Autumn Festival celebration "Together, We Celebrate A Joyful Occasion"

Our school will be holding the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration （中秋游园会）titled “Together, We Celebrate A Joyful Occasion”. Details are as follows:

The Mid-Autumn Festival is held on the 15th day of the eight month of the Chinese calendar（农历八月十五）. It is also a date when the moon is at its fullest and rounded. The festival for this year happens to fall on Monday, 12 September and with the Hungry Ghost Festival being just over, it is an appropriate time for the school to celebrate the occasion.

Sale of tickets: From 12 August, during office hours from the GO
Price of tickets: $2 each

Briefing of pupils: Friday, 12 August

Tentative activities for the night include a lion dance performance（舞狮表演）, Chinese riddles（猜灯谜） for adults and children, game stalls（游戏摊位）, sale of traditional handicrafts and food（售卖传统手工艺品、美食）, tea culture demonstration（茶艺示范）, lucky draw（幸运抽奖） and a mini concert（迷你演出）. There will be special displays related to Chinese culture. There will also be a lantern procession（灯笼游行） and a “Creative Lantern Display”（创意灯笼展示）.

You are invited to join in the celebrations with your family so we hope to see you there!

Reminders for 4D

Dear 4D,

Things have been going pretty well.

But today was quite a disappointing day.

Even though there are some who put in effort to abide by the 5 Rules, but there are still a few of those who either just started or continuously break the rules especially rule number 3:

Be PUNCTUAL in all things.

Although it is human nature to be forgetful, but I am still disappointed in the behaviors of those who either didn't do their homework or didn't bring their homework or even both.

Till now I am trying to understand how you can do either one of the above behaviors despite having your homework reminders in 4 different forms:

1) The Class Whiteboard

2) Your Student Diary

3) The Class Blog

4) Your Classmates

I don't think there should be more type of homework reminders to be added to this list.

By now, at Primary 4, I hope you can be responsible to check these 4 homework reminders:

1) before you go home,

2) once you reach home

3) when you pack your school bag for the next day.

By doing so, responsibly and consciously, there will be lower chances for you to forget to do or bring your homework.

Lastly, I will also like to remind all of you that all homework or class work have to be done in pen and not pencil. You will only use pencil to draw or to do corrections.
